More than slightly freaking out.

I am going back to work. An out of the house, have to wear non Lycra pants, Monday - Friday job. I have been at home either part time or full time being pregnant or chasing babies since June 2010. I am so excited to be interacting with grownups, wearing all of my now too big work clothes, and most importantly, getting a paycheck. Even though I'm thrilled to be working again, I'm freaking the F out!

I haven't worked full time since June 2010! None of my clothes fit! I have to wear real pants and shower....every day?!?! How am I going to shower, get ready, keep my pants from falling down while getting two one year old crazy climbing babies fed and ready for the day?

Yes, I know that billions of families do this everyday and that a new routine will fall into place. But for now, I freak out.

What we are loving in February.

The crazy babies have really developed different likes and opinions. These are some things they are loving this month:

Luke loves anything that gets a reaction out of me. He loves making me laugh and secretly loves when he is upset because he loves a good hug and snuggle. Luke loves running into the kitchen in the morning, chanting "nana nana nana" (banana), while swaying back and forth. He loves showing me where the ice comes from and banging on the freezer door until given a cube. His favorite game is knocking on a closed door and looking underneath to see who is on the other side. Luke is still loving my hair and loves to play in the basement. Recently he started loving Jack's teeth. Jack is obviously thrilled by this.

Luke loves feeding himself.

Calvin loves to climb. He climbs the tv stand, kitchen chairs, high chairs, book shelf, and basement toy shelf. When caught climbing he claps his hands and squeals with delight. It's an exhausting game. He loves his blankie which can usually be found within arms reach. He loves stacking Legos and looking at books. His favorite toy is the Noah's Arc which he keeps very organized with all the animals safe inside. Calvin has a new love for Blue's Clues and yells back at the tv. He loves playing in the basement shower and splashing his brother.

Calvin loves chewing his spoon.

Both the crazies are loving anything banana, with cheese, or marinara sauce, and torturing Jack.

We are all still hating molars.

F-off molars. We were doing just fine without you.

Dear molars,

My boys have handled teething pretty well. They both got two bottom teeth at six months and the week after their first birthday six more new teeth popped through. Usually, they wake for a night or two before the tooth cuts through their gums but that's it. No crying, no more waking at night, nothing.

Molars, you have rocked our world.

These two are miserable. They scream and hold their face. They are refusing to eat anything besides bananas. They suck on crushed ice all day long. Calvin has been able to sleep six hours at a time but Luke is waking after four hours, and coming to bed with us. I am currently in week three of sleeping with a hot, footie pajama body next to me. It's. Been. Rough.

So, F-off molars! We were eating chicken and crunching on Veggie Sticks just fine before you tried to show up. Quit pissing off my kids and leave us alone.

Not happy campers.

My hair has never smelled so...interesting.

Dear Calvin,
It's time I reveal your secret. You are a tiny hoarder. Every night after you go to bed I clean up your toys. Every night while cleaning up your toys I always come up short. Why am I only finding 7 Legos? I'm missing both elephants in Noah's Arc. Didn't I hand out three spatulas today? I can usually find the missing toys crammed into Noah's Arc, stuffed in your play mailbox, in your Halloween pumpkin. Anything that opens, you have filled it with toys. Yesterday, while playing in the basement you wouldn't stop banging on the bathroom door. As soon as I opened the door you ran to the vanity and inside was a basketball, more Legos, a zebra, pacifier, and one of Jack's toys. At least you are remembering where you are stashing your treasures.

Dear Luke,
I love your little hands. I love when you clap. I love when we high five. I love when they give me the "bro pat" when we hug. (I'm your mom, start giving me real hugs. Thanks.) I love watching them cram goldfish crackers in your mouth. What I don't love are banana hands. Banana hands only want to touch my hair. They coat my (usually unclean but that's besides the point) hair with slimy banana. Maybe next time your hair would like a banana conditioning treatment? For now, mine is all set.

Oh, Hey Blog...

My New Years Resolution was to start blogging every evening. Seeing as how it is Feb 9th and it has taken me almost three weeks to write this, I may have to aim for once a week. Seriously?!? My last post was 11 months ago? That can't be...what have I been doing that my little creative (can writing about ones own daily life be creative?) outlet has been so ignored! Oh, right, I've been chasing the crazy babies around the house, town, and back and forth from New Jersey. Let see if I can sum up the past year (seriously? a year? this is nuts...)

The crazy babies learned to sit up, crawl, crawl after Jack, crawl really fast after Jack, walk, walk really fast, and run after Jack. All by the time they were 10 months old. They run, jump, and climb on everything! They really are crazy babies.

Luke is the sweetest little boy. (I can't believe that he is a little boy already. This is going way too fast. Where was I?) Luke is the sweetest little boy. Every since he stopped being "Pukie Lukie" he only wants to entertain anyone who is willing to watch. (I wonder where he got that genetic gift...) His goal everyday is to make us laugh and smile as much as possible, as long as we are laughing and smiling at him. If it is his brother who is getting the laughs Luke will try and out due him by an means possible; jumping, throwing himself on the ground, licking the dog...you get the idea. He is the best at snuggling and loves playing with hair. Which is good cause Luke is rocking an awesome mullet these days.

Calvin, oh Calvin. Calvin loves to climb. More then he loves to climb, he loves to be caught climbing. (I see that little smirk when I grab you off of the tv stand. I'm onto you Cal.) He personality has really started to show the past few months. Calvin is very independent. He does not want to be cuddled to sleep, he is content being put in his crib with his favorite blanket and putting himself to sleep. He does not want Garrett or I to hold the spoon or cup for him, he can do it. Showing him how to build with Legos? Forget it, he already has a color coordinated tower in the works.

The dynamic between the two of them couldn't be better. Since Calvin is happy to play independently it allows me to give Luke laughs he craves. They have started to play, hug and high five each other. Each time we catch them interacting Garrett and I cry. We have become emotional messes.

Next post: You both have done just fine with eight teeth, do you really need molars?
